Light Show July 4-I am enjoying my summer thus far. I am staying busy and I am smiling all the way through. I haven't stopped shooting and I don't think I will. If anyone is still out there........This is for you.

I remember Dan at the Axis demo when Chad Muska came thru to skate. Dan was mad excited and was having plenty of fun. That was 10 years ago. We have both been skateboarding for a long while now. We were not as close then as we are now. I would say it took a little time for us to get used to each other. I remember when I really started to pay attention though- One day Dan ask me for my email. I give it to him and he sends me his raps......''Skate Raps''- I got his email a day later and I downloaded one of his songs to my Ipod. I didn't listen right away but when I did I was kind of amazed that this quiet skater was rapping so hard- After that we started to hang out and make music together- One day he informs me that he is starting a skateboarding company called Estilo. I remember how pumped he was. He has been running it ever since then. Im not sure how old the company is but he has a pretty good team and he travels often to promote the company.Dan is still rapping, skateboarding, traveling,eating good, and spending time with his family. He just moved out to Brazil and I wanted wish him the best of luck- Peace Dan (Dan is on the left. He is not shooting you the finger.....the gesture actually means something else. lol- Im on the right)

Living in NYC the past couple of months have been inspiring. I have found painting-photography-and skateboarding to be that much better now that I'm home more. Thanks to JRock I have been putting in alot of work doing all the things I love to do. We have alot of work to accomplish in the next couple of months. I know it will get done because she has my back and I have her back as well. This photo was taken about a month ago while skating a skate park in the Bronx. We skate together when we have time. She is pretty nice with the kickflips. In this photo I am skating by while she sits and rest. If you are not paying attention you might miss me. I'm the blur. The days I spend in Roxbury aren't just for work. Sometimes I go off on little missions to find the beautiful things in life. I took this photo and posted it to my facebook. I was so proud of the work. I am still proud of the photo. I would drive down this little dirt road everyday for a week looking for little odd things to shoot photos of and I ran up on this little shack. I shot this photo thinking this was the most interesting thing I had found, but after walking around inside the shack my camera captured other things that will remain dear to me. I recently went on a trip to Atlanta. I came up with an idea to shot photos of people I admire. One of the people on this list is my grandfather. I visit Atlanta every 2 years and he always complains about me not staying long enough. I stayed for three days this time. I have to say it was time well spent. I saw my grandfather all three days and that felt great. He told me stories of his past. He talked about his wife and his bank account. He is a very smart man and his lifestyle is a great example of what hard work will bring you. He is the pride of the Norwood family and I look forward to getting to know him much better. I plan to visit again in a month. He doesn't know it yet. It will be a nice surprise.

This is one of my oldest friends. We go back since 92. We have a strange relationship, but if I ever needed him I know he would be there. His last name is Burkey. That's how I came up with the name ''Bird''. I would always call him by his last name. One day instead of saying Burkey I said Birdie and then Bird. After that people started hearing me say it so they began to call him Bird too. It just stuck. Sometimes he can be an ass, but he is one of the realest people I know. In this photo he took a pretty bad fall skateboarding. He just got right back up and tried it again though. What up Bird......

The good weather is slowly making its way back and I am enjoying the lighter/longer days. I look forward to the beach,traveling,and the ladies. The great thing about this good weather is a positive attitude and my skateboard. My skateboard is honestly my one real best friend. Its been there for me in the good and the bad times. It has changed alot over the years but not enough for me to give it up. We have traveled and made memories together. I am happy to have found skateboarding when I did. Skateboarding saved my life.

I took a month out to just shoot polariods. They weren't always good, but I took a chance and did it anyway. The reason why I love photography so much is that there are so many ways to get a photo. It doesn't have to be shot one way. MDS needed some photos for his album and of course I was down for his cause. These polariods became throw aways. I met this rapper at the mom and pop cd store that I frequent in CT. We usually talk about the new music thats out and I buy some cd's and leave. The other day that I went to the store he mentions to me that he raps and he is coming out with a new mixtape. I mention to him that I shoot photos and I would like to be in on the photos for the cover. He didn't believe that I was a photographer at first but once he saw my work he seemed convinced. 3 days before the mixtape was supposed to come out I get a call from him seeing if I was available. Of course I was. I shot a couple of photos for him with the limited time had and here are the results for his mixtape. I just got a call from him to do the next mixtape. I don't usually shot this much. I remember my photo teacher Mr. Paris said I should always be shooting. I would always agree and then not shot anything for long periods of time. I always thought that I could get to it later. Well that later is right now and I have a year of catching up to do. It wasn't that I didn't like to shoot. I was looking for something specific that went with my style of shooting. I wanted to shoot what people were used to seeing from me. I wanted to shoot what I like. Lately I'm shooting things I like and some things that I don't like. There are so many things to shoot. I had to open my eyes, aim my camera, push the button, and what I see comes to life. I'm finally shooting Mr. Paris. I shot a day in the life of me relaxing before class. I like these things today. The sun hit everything perfectly.

I have been in NYC a while now. It's a love hate thing. I love the subway when the trains are running on time and there is seating. I hate the subway when you have no room to walk and the train is so packed that you can't enter and exit. Today was a ''love'' day for me. I was feeling really positive and it shows in this photo. It was rush hour and by the time I was leaving this guy had alot of money in his tray. I hope he made out. Today I love NYC and NYC loves me.

It snowed upstate this weekend. I enjoyed the snow by staying far away from it. I still got a chance to shoot the beauty of it though.

The only way the Christmas tree is gonna live is you have to keep water in the bottom. The tree is real and we love to see it when the lights are actually working.

I go to the expensive spanish store to get this Mango juice that is simply amazing. I even mix it with a smoothie or two. It's really thick and It's all natural. This bottle will be gone by the morning. So will the water. That stuff on the right of the Mango juice is crazy!!!!

Isn't it funny how 20 years ago cell phones were super exclusive. You had to be rich to actually have one. If you were not rich you at least had to have a good job. They were big and bulky and covered your whole ear. Now you can get one anywhere and they come so small that they fit your ear perfectly. Funny how something that wasn't a necessity is now one of the biggest necessities in our lives. New day new rules. Soon we won't be needing cell phones. We will just talk out loud because our cell phones will be implanted in our heads.LOL. My phones ringing right now. Bye

I have been shooting for ByHand Clothing for a while now. It has progressed into a great company to work for. I try to shoot every photo in the image of the company. This particular photo happened in break time. Darren (the model) was jumping around and ask me if I would shoot him. I started letting off shots and we captured this one. I think this should be used for one of the ads. This is dope.

Grand Central NYC

Grand Central is a vision of beauty. When you walk in the first place you find yourself looking is the ceiling. It's truly a beautiful vision. From 2004 to about 2006 I was at Grand Central 3 times a week. I would walk the same route to the subway from the Metro North train. I did this for two years. Grand central is a very large place. If you are not careful you could get lost quick. One particular day I decided to travel a different route. I came across a man laying on the ground resting. People walked by as if no one was there. I wasn't surprised because NYC is one place where you could be laying on the ground bleeding and people will just walk by like there is nothing wrong. Maybe they are to caught up in their own lives to care. It could be their cell phones, computers, or their ipods keeping them to busy. It was so interesting that I had to shoot it. The people walking by began to take notice as I started to shoot. That was odd considering that 10 minutes before no one cared. It amazing what gets peoples attention. After I took a couple of shots of this man I ask him if he needed water, food, or a couple of dollars. He replied no and I went on my way. The next day I took another route and every since then I always take a different route.

America's House

I slowed down on my landscape photography for a while now. There is a little town in CT. called Roxbury. Many of your favorite celebrities have mansions in this town. Its quiet and very safe. The neighbors don't bother you at all and its beautiful. How do I know about this place? Because thats where my job is. The people I work for have a big house and they pay me very well. I was driving around Roxbury one day and got lost. This is what I found. America's house. 07/08

M.D.S is a college graduate, rapper, hard worker, and a husband. I have had the opportunity to work with him for the last 4 years. I think we work so well together because we have the same goal. We both want to be successful. We both believe in what we are doing. I also consider M.D.S a good friend. I like his music and the direction he is taking it. This photo is the winner of the International Open Amateur Photography Competition. My mom had been sending me emails about this contest and wanted me to check it out. I ignored this contest as long as I could. Before long my mom was asking me if I had sent in a photo. Of course I replied no and told her that I’m not really into the contest thing. She explained to me that it didn’t really matter if I won or not. She was so sure if I just put the work out there that the people would see it and respond. The first photo I sent them was a great photo. They rejected it. I was so hurt that I wrote them this long email about me not wanting to send anything in the first place. They responded to my email and said that they would like me to enter another photo. I couldn’t believe the nerve of these people. My work is very personal to me and it was already hard for me to give them what I felt they didn’t deserve. Either way I sent them another photo. I didn’t think anything about the contest after that though. I had nothing to lose. A couple of months later I get an email from IAPC saying that my photo has got the first place slot with a bunch of other photos. I was pretty siked, but at the same time I was pretty skeptical. One month later I receive an award by mail. It was a surprise but it will be an even bigger surprise for mom.

The last time I saw a light show was nine years ago. I was hanging out with my grandmother on her back porch and we watched them together. That was an awesome night. We talked for hours under the stars and the fireworks. Fast forward to 2008. I was on my way home when I got invited to meet with family and friends for an evening of fun and food. I took my camera along and the end results were pretty amazing.

She is such a beautiful women. I’m not just saying this because she is my mother either. I have had the privilege of being raised by a woman that I have grown to cherish and admire dearly. It seems as she has gotten older her looks have just gotten better. I love this woman more than she will ever know. She has given me life and most of all…….Love. She lives in the middle of the USA and I live in the north. We speak often and she can always bring a smile to my face. This small collage was a gift to her from me. She didn’t even know I had the top photo. We were on our way to Mexico for a little vacation fun. I showed up to her room at about 4pm with my camera and candy. She had some movies to watch and she also had a book to read. I watched the movies while she was reading. After the first movie I look over and noticed that she is really focused on her book. I also noticed that this was a perfect time to shoot photos of her. No make-up, no cell phones, no boyfriend,…..just really good lighting and her beautiful face. Her face was so bright. I start shooting the photos and she kept putting her head down. I ask her to please give me just one shot. She refused. I waited patiently. I even told her I turned the camera off. She smiled and as soon as she looked up I let the shutter work its magic. The result was pretty amazing. I shot this in September 2004. I didn’t show her the photo until 2008. I had been waking up to this photo every morning for the last 4 years. That trip was one of the best trips I have ever been on. She made it that much better for me. The two photos at the bottom was a trip we took to the ATL. We used to live there but life takes us to so many different places and I’m so thankful for that. The photos show my mother with her sisters, father, daughter, and grandson. That’s right. I said grandson. The trip was special because it marked the first time a had seen my grandfather in 16 years. We had a falling out, but we made peace on this visit. I am happy we did that.

I think school was alot more interesting this time around. Instead of spending time in the studio shooting, my teacher took us on trips. One of those trips was to the beach in Long Island,New York. I have been holding on to this one for about a month. I liked it alot, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to share it or not. I know it sounds a bit selfish but some things are way more personal than others. I caught a seagull flying in this picture and I was so proud. Someone told me that it doesn't take much to make me happy. I agree.......I'm just open to the great possibilities of things in life. The beach is one of those places where you can reflect on things that have happened and that will happen. When I was there that day I was focused on one thing. What was happening in my life at that very moment. That was a great day. I plan to live on the beach one day. The question is when and where. Cheers

I thought it would be just another day in class. I arrived late as usual, but to my surprise no one was in class.I made a few calls and I found out everyone was outside. I went outside and the vans were packed and ready to go. The class was going on a field trip. How siked am I at that moment. I got in the van and we were off. When we got to Brooklyn my plan was to just shoot anything and leave. That changed once I got a hold of the digital Hasselblad. This shot was one of my favorites because Jen is one of my favorite photographers. It didn't take very long to see my vision come to life. Now I can share that vision with you.

I was looking at the sky today and noticed something really interesting. I saw the moon and an airplane. I know what you might think. So what. You know when the sky is clear and the plane leaves the white streak of smoke behind it. Well it was that scene crossing the moon. It was grand. The thing about what im saying is that some things are not meant to be photographed. So things are meant for pure memory. I like knowing this was mine to remember and anyone else who saw it.
